A three-year-old child has been rescued after accidentally falling into a latrine at Asuogya, a community in Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region.
According to a report by adomonline.com on March 24, 2026, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded promptly to a distress call received at exactly 3:03 pm on Monday, March 23, 2026.
The rescue team upon arrival at the scene, quickly assessed the situation, and initiated a rescue operation to save the child.

“Working under challenging conditions, the team successfully retrieved the toddler from the pit,” the report said.
The child was rescued alive and immediately transported to Holy Family Hospital for medical assessment and treatment.
Residents who witnessed the incident praised the firefighters for their swift and professional response, noting that their timely intervention saved the child’s life.
