GITFIC holds networking event in Tema, to explore new opportunities in trade and finance sector

The Ghana Trade and Finance Conference with the support of the Mexican Embassy to Ghana has held a mid-year get together networking event that sought to bring members of the conference together and expose them to opportunities that lie within the trade and finance sector.

Various players in the trade and finance sector including the Head of trade services of the Agricultural Development Bank and the CEO of Ghana Commodity Exchange participated to give an account of their contributions to economic development and how members can take advantage of opportunities in their circles.

The Guest of honour, Mexican Ambassador to Ghana Her Excellency Maria de Los Angeles Arriola Aguirre, in a presentation demonstrated the vast number of opportunities Mexico holds, and called for collaboration from Ghanaian industries to partner Mexico for economic development.

“Ghana will turn into the hub for cars in the sub region. Mexico is the 4th producer and exporter of auto parts. So, we are planning together with the Ministry of Trade to meet with that sector in Mexico for collaboration”, she said.

Selasi Kofi Ackom, Chief Executive Officer of Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference said such programs embarked on by his outfit is geared towards empowering the private sector to grow their businesses by taking strategic financial decisions with opportunities available.



“We have come to expose our participants to opportunities that lie within their circles including how they can access funds to do their business, and how to market their produce”, he disclosed.

The members of the GITFIC who were present at the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, were taken through a tour of the operations at the Tema Port, which is a key economic asset to national development and private businesses.

Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference is an annual assembly that provides the platform for people in the trade and finance sector to present and explore realistic solutions to Trade, Investment and Funding opportunities.
