An operation to remove undocumented immigrants off the streets of Kaneshie and Abossey Okai, in the Greater Accra Region, by the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), is underway.
The exercise by the government aims to alleviate congestion in these public areas.
In an X video shared by Channel One TV on Friday, May 16, 2025, among these undocumented immigrants are children and their guardians who have been rounded up by officials from the Ghana Immigration Service.
“Ghana Immigration officials are undertaking an operation at Kaneshie and Abossey Okai to remove street children and their guardians from these areas as part of efforts to manage irregular migration and public safety,” the Channel One TV post on X stated.
