The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has issued a warning to the public regarding a fraudulent online recruitment portal that falsely claims to offer job opportunities within the service.

This cautionary statement was released on June 3, 2025, following reports of unsuspecting individuals being misled by the deceptive website.

According to GIS, the fake portal mimics the official recruitment process, enticing applicants to submit personal information and, in some cases, make payments under the guise of processing fees.

The service emphasised that it has not authorised any third-party platforms for recruitment purposes and that all official announcements and application procedures are communicated through its verified channels.

In light of this development, GIS urges the public to exercise caution and verify the authenticity of recruitment advertisements before engaging them.

“Our Intelligence Section, in collaboration with other state security agencies, is pursuing leads to identify, apprehend, and prosecute those behind this fraudulent scheme,” the statement said.

Individuals are advised to consult the official GIS website or contact the service directly for accurate information.

The public is also encouraged to report any suspicious recruitment activities to the appropriate authorities to prevent further victimisation.

The GIS further urged the public to disregard any communication or solicitation from GOLERNERSHUB.COM or similar unofficial sources purporting to be serving its interest.

It warned that anyone who engages with such entities does so at their own risk.

"This warning serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance in the face of increasing online scams targeting job seekers. GIS remains committed to safeguarding the public and ensuring that its recruitment processes are transparent and secure," the statement added.
