The Council of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) has announced the reappointment of Dr Kwaku Agyeman-Budu as Dean of the Faculty of Law.

According to a report by CitiNewsroom on September 3, 2025, this marks his second and final three-year term, having first assumed office in September 2022.

The announcement, confirmed in a statement by the Institute’s Secretary, Dr Victoria M. Kunbuor, sets his new term from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2028.

At just 37 years old, Dr Agyeman-Budu is the youngest academic to hold the prestigious deanship at GIMPA.

Beyond his academic responsibilities, he oversees both the African Centre of International Criminal Justice and the African Centre on Law and Ethics at GIMPA.

His reappointment follows a thorough review by the Institute’s Renewal Committee and subsequent approval by the Appointment and Promotion Committee.

Dr Agyeman-Budu becomes the fifth individual, and the fourth academic, to lead the Faculty of Law.

He also plays a pivotal role in coordinating the Justice Service of Ghana’s internship and clerkship programme, which places law students in courts across the country.

Before his initial appointment, he served as a senior lecturer and headed various law centres within GIMPA.

His research interests span criminal law, international criminal justice, business and human rights, and legal ethics.
