GIFEC inspects rural telephony facilities in Ellembelle district

The Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) has conducted a site inspection of rural telephony facilities in selected communities in the Ellembelle district of the Western Region.

The Director of Corporate Affairs, Francisca Mawufemor Adjei, led a technical team to assess areas requiring electronic communication connectivity as part of efforts to expand telecommunication access in the unserved communities.

Communities visited included Aluku, Dump, Aidoosuazo and Atuabo, where the team evaluated existing network coverage, identified connectivity gaps and assessed the infrastructure needed to improve service delivery.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ellembelle, Joseph Agyekum, accompanied the team to conduct the inspection tour across the beneficiary communities.

The exercise forms part of GIFEC’s mandate to bridge the digital divide by extending telecommunication infrastructure to unserved and underserved areas nationwide.

Findings from the inspection will guide the planning and implementation of future connectivity projects to ensure improved access to reliable communication services for residents.

The DCE for Ellembelle, Joseph Agyekum commended the government for thinking about Ellembelle.

He disclosed that this was the first time the good people of Aidosuazo were going to have access to telecommunication network.
