GFA president Kurt Okraku meets key stakeholders this week

The president of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku has started meeting key stakeholders of the game ahead of the commencement of the Premier League next month.

Kurt Okaraku who was elected exactly a month ago, has hit the ground running and is set to continue with deliberations with key persons with the imminent return of domestic football in the country.

Yesterday, the FA boss met with all 18 Premier League clubs to deliberate on issues that have affected the smooth running of the league over the years. He also with the consent of the Executive Council, presented a set of new Premier League rules for their consideration and adoption ahead of the league’s commencement.

He also met the Executive Council members, where he presented a list of people he wanted to serve on various ad hoc and standing committees of the Association if approved by the Executive Council.

Insiders say they meeting with the Premier League clubs was successfully despite a few clubs suggesting that the league be started next year instead of next month.

The GFA President is expected to meet the sector Minister, Isaac Asiamah later today to see who government can help financially and logistically ahead of the league season. He will also meet members of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), before rounding up the day with a meeting with the National Sports Authority, custodians of all the stadia in Ghana.

With a bias for women’s football, Kurt is determined to meet Elite Women Clubs on Wednesday. He will also meet Division One clubs across the country, as well as officials of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports.

On Thursday, a meeting with Regional Football Association and the referee’s Association of Ghana has been arranged.

The FA President will end the week with a visit to Prampram Center of Excellence; a place he has vowed to upgrade into a modern center of football excellence in the coming years.
