A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Ghana Export-Import Bank (GEXIM) and eight Ghanaian organisations to strengthen industrialisation, promote value addition, and expand the country’s export base.
The agreements were formalised during GEXIM’s 10th anniversary international conference held in Accra on March 26, 2026.
The move forms part of the bank’s broader efforts to intensify support for strategic sectors of the economy.
One of the beneficiaries, Northshore Apparel Ghana Limited, will collaborate with GEXIM to expand domestic garment production, create sustainable employment opportunities, and strengthen Ghana’s position in the global apparel market.
GEXIM has also partnered TKS Packaging & Printing Limited to increase local production in the packaging and printing industry, reduce dependence on imports, and reinforce the country’s manufacturing base.
GEXIM prioritises MSMEs, export readiness in new strategic reset
Within the agribusiness space, agreements were signed with Nadkansco Company Limited and Freshsaco Foods Exports Company Limited to promote agro-processing, support farmers, and grow non-traditional exports through improved value chains and market access.
Additionally, the bank is backing SPEG with financing to procure heavy-duty machinery for pineapple processing. This initiative is expected to boost output, create jobs, and improve export competitiveness.
In a similar vein, GEXIM’s partnership with Buntaa Farms Limited is focused on scaling up local poultry production, cutting down import reliance, and enhancing food security by increasing domestic supply.
On the industrial side, the bank has signed an MoU with Arise Integrated Industrial Platforms Limited (Arise IIP) to support the development of an industrial park, with the company providing feasibility assessments and technical expertise.
Furthermore, GEXIM is collaborating with the Biotechnology and Nuclear Agriculture Research Institute (BNARI) to upgrade its tissue culture laboratory into a centre of excellence aimed at supporting large-scale production of planting materials for the pineapple sector.
According to GEXIM, these partnerships form part of a wider strategy to stimulate investment, strengthen local industries, and position Ghana as a competitive force in both regional and global markets.
