GES warns private schools to register with it

Apam (C/R), July 26, GNA - The Gomoa District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has warned that private schools that have not registered with the office and the Ghana National Private School Association (GNAPS) would not be supplied with materials and logistics. Nana Incoom, Assistant Director at the GES district office, said this at an emergency meeting with proprietors of private schools in the district at Apam on Wednesday.

He advised the proprietors to regularize their operations with the appropriate agencies or face sanctions and to ensure that they provided their schools with playing fields, places of convenience, washing rooms and enough teachers.

Mr. Asiedu Richmond of the Asebu Preparatory School said private schools faced discrimination from the GES in the distribution of logistics and materials and called for a change.

Mr. Hayford Quaye, Proprietor of the Apam Royal Preparatory School, appealed to his colleagues to register with the Registrar General's Department as demanded by law.
