GEPA receives Otumfour’s blessings for works in Ashanti Region

A team of executives from the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) led by CEO Madam Afua Asabea Asare, has paid a courtesy visit to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace, Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The visit was to appreciate the support of Asanteman enjoyed over the years by GEPA in the Region and to also seek Otumfuo's "blessing" as plans kick off for the construction of a new GEPA office complex in Danyame, a suburb in Kumasi.

The new office complex is expected to be constructed at the old site of GEPA's Ashanti Regional office and will accommodate facilities to efficiently run GEPA's Export School. The curriculum for the flagship training programme for exporters is also expected to be upgraded to an accredited certified course.

Madam Afua Asabea Asare mentioned that, she believes the edifice when completed, will not only be a plus for GEPA as an organisation, but a landmark for Asanteman and Ghana as a whole as the Export School will be open to participants from West Africa and beyond.

On his part, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II commended Madam Asare for her efforts in aggressively promoting Ghana's Exports, a keen observation he had made since she took office in June 2018.

He advised her to remain resolute and relentless in ensuring that Ghana's Exports brings in the much needed revenue to stabilise Ghana's economy.

He urged GEPA to work closely with stakeholders, especially those in the Finance sector to enable them support exporters to produce required volumes to meet export demands.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II wished Madam Asare and her team well and gave his blessings for the upcoming new facility.

Members of the GEPA team that visited Manhyia included Prof. Alex Dodoo (Member of GEPA's Board of Directors and CEO of Ghana Standards Board) Mr Samuel Dentu, Deputy Chief Executive, Mr Adjei-Yeboah, Director for Ashanti & Brong Ahafo, Mr Alex Dadzawa, Director Projects and Mrs Ruth Maafo, Director of Public Relations and among others.
