The long-awaited funeral of Maame Mary Kisiwaa of Wamanafo-Brong Ahafo was
celebrated in grand and traditional style in Columbus, Ohio on May 15, 2010. Susan Gyamfi who mourned her mother was not alone at the Columbus Holy Resurrection Church Hall. Her husband, Nana Gyamfi Kumanin, was with her; so also was the most affable Chief of Columbus, Nana Odeneho Osei Kwabena. Others were Nana Yaw Duah (Asantehene of Columbus), Nana Abenaa Gyamfuaa (Asantehemaa of Columbus) and Nana Owusu Aduomiri.
Friends, relatives and sympathisers came from as far as Canada, New York, New
Jersey, Virginia, Iowa and several cities in Ohio. As always, Dr. Kwame Sintim of New Jersey registered his presence as well. In attendance were members of the Brong Ahafo Association of Columbus and Royal Chapel Ministry of Columbus, Ohio. The hall
that was filled to its maximum capacity with several people unable to enter was
itself a testimony to the goodness and helpfulness of Susan Gyamfi and Nana Gyamfi.
Please go to the Photo Gallery and sample through them. Odo Kwadwo of Columbus, Ohio
captured them all. Report by Nana Appiah.
