The government has announced full details on the funeral for the victims of the August 6 helicopter crash in Adansi Akrufuom, which claimed eight lives.
The ceremony, slated for Friday, August 15, 2025, will be a full military service conducted by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, August 14, Deputy Chief of Staff, Stan Dogbey, noted that the funeral will take place in three parts; Bible and Qur’an recitals, the main service, and the burial at the Black Star Square.
The pre-burial programme will begin at 7:00am and end at 9:00 am.
The Vice President is expected to arrive at 8:50 am, followed by President John Dramani Mahama at 9:00 am to commence the state service.
The three-hour ceremony will feature the reading of biographies of all eight victims, along with tributes from widows, children, government officials, and institutional representatives.

Following the service, the remains of six victims will be taken to the military cemetery at Tse Addo for interment, with burial rites jointly performed by the GAF and the respective churches of the deceased.
Two victims, Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed and Alhaji Muniru Mohammed Limuna, were buried earlier on Sunday, August 10, in line with Islamic customs.

Stan Dogbey urged members of the public to arrive early and strictly observe security protocols during the event.
