Four teenagers arraigned for rape

Four teenagers who allegedly gang-raped a Junior High School graduate have been arrested and remanded by a Hohoe Magistrate Court presided over by Mr Stanislaus Amanoipo.

They are Victor Klu alias “Big Zero,” Akwasi Vernance Benuyena, Atakora Rahman and Simon Osei.

Klu and Benuyena have pleaded guilty to the charge with Atakora and Osei yet to respond.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Benjamin Dadzie, prosecuting told the court that the victim was intoxicated by drinking locally brewed liquor “Akpeteshie” at an open dance session at Santrokofi-Benua Park on March 29, during the Easter holidays.

ASP Dadzie said two Samaritans escorted her home but found no one.

She was later taken to the adjoining house, where a search party went looking for the victim’s elder sister.

He said the teenagers took advantage of the situation, raped her and went into hiding.

They were, however, arrested from their hide out.

They will re-appear on June 13.
