Accra, Sept.17, GNA - Four Ambassadors designated to Ghana on Wednesday, presented their Letters of Credence to President John Agyekum Kufuor at the Castle, Osu.
They were, Mr Fleming Bjork Pederson of Denmark, Mr Zhang Keyuan of China, Mr Abdelrahim Ahmed Khalil of Sudan, based in Abuja, Nigeria and Mr Constantine Glova of Greece also based in Abuja, Nigeria. President Kufuor urged the Ambassadors to assist strengthen the existing cordial relationship between their countries and Ghana and put them on a higher pedestal.
The Ambassadors pledged to continue with the good works of their predecessors to improve on the relationship between their countries and Ghana.
Present were Mr Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, Minister of Tourism and Modernisation of the Capital City and Mr Akwasi Osei Adjei, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
President Kufuor made the pledge when he received the Letters of Credence of Mr Abdelrahim Ahmed Khalil, Sudan Ambassador in Ghana based in Abuja, Nigeria at the Castle, Osu.
He called on the government of Sudan to try to open a Mission in Ghana to facilitate relations between both countries.
Mr Khalil said negotiations to restore peace in Sudan was on course and was left with some problems that could be resolved soon.
He said Sudan had discovered oil and with peace in sight it would be exploited for the benefit of the people. He said Sudan would open a Mission in Accra soon. 17 Sept.03
