Forty nine year-old adjudged best district farmer in Sefwi-Wiawso

Sefwi-Sui, (W/R), Nov 10, GNA - Mr Mumuni Abbam, a 49-year-old farmer from Sefwi-Ntrereso was last Friday adjudged the best farmer in the Sefwi-Wiawso District. For his prize, he received a double deck refrigerator, three cutlasses, one pair of Wellington boots, knapsack sprayer and a wax print. Twenty other farmers were also honoured and received Wellington boots, cutlasses, fertilizers and radio sets during the celebration of the district's Farmers' Day held at Sefwi-Sui in the Western Region. Mr Yaw Boamah, Sefwi-Wiawso District Chief Executive commended the award winners for their hard work and reminded Ghanaians to be conscious of the challenges that globalization posed to food security and national development agenda. Mr Alfred Oburoni, District Director of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture said the agricultural sector in the district had been modernized and that this had improved productivity tremendously.
