Former US Under-Secretary sympathises with Rawlings

Accra, Feb. 22, GNA - Former United States Under- Secretary of State for African Affairs, Jendayi Elizabeth Frazer, on Monday, called on former President Rawlings and his wife Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings to commiserate with them on the destruction of their residence by fire.

Dr Frazer, who is in Ghana on a personal visit, held private discussions with the former first couple on African and international issues, a statement from the Office of the former president said. According to Former President Rawlings, Dr Frazer expressed her sympathies on the loss of their home and valued belongings and was thankful that no life was lost.

Dr Frazer was United States Under-Secretary of State for African Affairs during the Bush Administration.

A specialist in African and International Security Affairs, she was an assistant professor for Public Policy at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

She was also Assistant Professor at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies.
