The Ashanti regional branch of the Food and Drugs Authority, has seized some unregistered body enhancement cosmetic creams and drugs in the region.

One person was arrested in the operation for selling some of the products on the market without licence.

The seized products are breast uplifting fast cream, soft curve booty hip cream, Bobaraba cream, hip up cream, Yodi cream, Bazooka syrup, yodi capsules among others.

The FDA said the products are purported to be used for the enlargement of the breast, hips, buttocks, as well as the penis.

"Information has it that, most users are young people in our secondary and tertiary institutions," Mrs Nora Narkie Terlabie, regional head of FDA told the media at a press conference on Wednesday, 14 November 2018.

The products, she said are being imported from Nigeria into the country, according to preliminary investigations.

Mrs Narkie, said the FDA is collaborating with the police to identify the importers and peddlers to bring them to book.

She, therefore advised the general public to be alerted on the presence of the unapproved products and their harmful effect on the body.
