Lawyer and member of pressure group OccupyGhana, Ace Annan Ankomah has advised African leaders to fix their economies and stop begging for aid from Western countries with various conditionalities.

Speaking on JoyNews authoritative show NewFile on the case of homosexuality, the legal practitioner articulated that most countries who depend on foreign countries to sustain their economy are been convinced to accept and legalize same-sex marriage in their countries.

According to Ace, Arabian countries cannot be persuaded by the US and UK to their accept policies because they don’t go about begging for funds and aids hence they are not under anyone’s dictatorship.

“They can tell it to us because we depend on them. Fix your economy, when you get sufficiently strong you can also lob your own weapon into space and then say that we would not allow them to dictate to us.”

He added that “If you go to them to give you money to balance your economy and to fix other things that’s when you would get a Burkinabe President to tell a French President to stop treating us like you have our colonial power.”

“We allow them to point their left fingers at us then we say we are strong, fix your economy, when you are financially strong no one would tell you what to do,” he said

The issue of legalizing homosexuality has been on the forefront in Ghana after the Commander in Chief, Akufo Addo articulated in an interview with Al Jazeera that a strong collation that will have an impact on the public could force the law to be changed.
