Five persons including a woman in armed robbery case

Five persons including a woman were on Monday arraigned before Agona Swedru Circuit Court on provisional charges of conspiring to commit crime and murdering Thomas Mensah Moses, an agent of Glo telecommunication in Winneba.

They are Mallam Moro Ibrahim, Mubarak Hamidu, 26, Glo agent, Asibi Abuu Sadat, 25, trader, Seidu Alhassan, 31, tailor, and Arthur Swatson.

Three others whose names were given as only Akpa, Joseph and Nana Yusuf and have been mentioned as accomplices were not in the court and the police are looking for them.

The pleas of the five were not taken and they will re-appear on October 18.

Mallam Ibrahim was remanded in police custody while the rest were remanded in Nsawam prison custody.

Police Chief Inspector Ivey Agadia told the court presided over by Mr Justice Nathaniel Osam that on August 23, the accused persons excluding Swatson met in the house of Mallam Ibrahim and conspired to rob Moses.

According to Chief Inspector Agadia on the same day the five persons positioned themselves around the house of the deceased person while Akpa, Joseph and Yusuf entered his room, robbed him of Ghc 3,000.00 and shot him dead.

On September 27, Mallam Ibrahim was arrested at his hideout at Kasoa upon a tip off and during police interrogation mentioned Hamidu, Sadat, Alhasan, Akpa, Joseph, Yusuf and Swatson as his accomplices.
