Five ordained as Deacons of the Anglican Church

Koforidua, Sept. 28, GNA - The new Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Ho, The Rt. Rev. Mathias Medadus Badahu, has called on people who have succeeded in life to go back to the communities where they started life to give any support that they can towards enhancing their standard of living.

He made the call in a sermon at the ordination of five Deacons of the Anglican Church at a thanksgiving service organised to climax a special session of a synod organised by the Koforidua Diocese of the Anglican Church at the Koforidua St. Peter's Cathedral on Sunday.

Among those ordained included Reverend (Rev.) Christian Akumiah, formerly of the Christian Council and now with the Church World Service of Accra, Rev. Joseph Ayeh, an Agricultural Officer at Juapong, Rev. Edward Ohene Gyan, Eastern Regional Manager of Anglican Schools, Rev. Joseph W. K. Hayibor, Headmaster of the Begoro Anglican Junior Secondary School and Rev. Redeemer Semevor of the St. Nicholas Theological Seminary, Cape Coast.

Rt. Rev. Badahu observed that a lot of Christians are leaving their mother churches to join other churches because they accuse their mother churches of not teaching them how to succeed in their endeavours. He however advised the congregation that after prayers, they have to take the initiative in doing things that would make them succeed in their endeavours. They should not just pray and then go to sleep and expect God to do the rest for them.

Rt. Rev Badahu called on the newly ordained clergymen to put in more efforts if they want to succeed.
