First Lady inaugurates block at Prampram Health Centre

Accra , Dec. 14, GNA - First Lady, Dr Mrs Ernestina Naadu Mills, on Wednesday inaugurated a new block to augment health facilities at the Prampram Health Centre in the Dangme West District of Greater Accra Region.

"I declare this new block of Prampram Medical Centre duly inaugurated," the First Lady said, to an appreciative audience of traditional rulers, politicians, students, who responded with an applause, amidst dancing, drumming and appellations.

The traditional authorities of Ningo Prampram, had started the project, which was stalled for lack of funds, until the First Lady appealed to Huawei Technologies Ghana to support the project.

In addition, Huawei Technologies provided an ambulance, a pick-up vehicle, air-conditioners, a 150 KVA generator, height measures, a suction machine, computers and projectors.

Mrs Mills expressed appreciation to the China-based ICT firm for its support for the social and health sectors.

The First Lady expressed concern about the high rate of maternal mortality in Africa, and said she was hopeful that the facility would help improve health care delivery.

Nii Armah Ashietey Greater Accra Regional Minister, called for preventive rather than curative care for the facilities, and urged the people to eat good meals, have enough rest, and exercise their bodies regularly.
