A bloody fight between two men aged 33, resulted in the death of one at Bantama, a suburb of Assin Fosu in the Central Region on Friday.

The two are members of a group known as “Down There Boys” who are known to be gamblers in the area.

Linford Odum who reported on the incident narrated to Kasapa News that the two were engaged in a game of gambling on Thursday and as one of them sensed defeat starring at him, he raised false alarm that the Police were coming to raid the place and as they ran for their lives, he in the process bolted with the money.

The other guy, feeling peeved by the conduct of his colleague decided to teach him a lesson.

He reportedly saw the other guy on Friday Morning, apprehended him following which a fight ensued between them but were seperated moments after and both went home.

With anger still burning in them, they met again and another fight ensued. While they fought members of the group looked on waiting to see who would be defeated not knowing that the two combatants had both armed themselves.



In the process, one of them Mohammed Kankani was stabbed with a scissors and was rushed to the St. Francis Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The other guy also sustainded knife wounds and is curently receiving treatment at the same hospital. The family of the deceased boiling with anger then stormed the Hospital together with some youth with the intent of killing the wounded guy for murdering their relative.

The situation resulted in a chaotic scene at the hospital which otherwise should have a serene atmosphere.

It took the timely intervention of the police to bring the situation under control. The police are currently guarding the hospital to ensure that no untoward happenings occur.
