The Peasant Farmers Association of Ghana is alleging that the list drafted for the distribution of fertilizers have 'ghosts' on it.
Vice president of the Association, Nana Ameyaw Manu says some individuals have conspired with some persons in charge of the fertilizers to play a fast one on farmers.
He is also alleging that these individuals who pretend to be farmers after receiving the fertilizers smuggle them to neighboring countries to sell.
According to him, as part of efforts to curtail smuggling of fertilizers, they have built the capacity of farmers who have been able to identify the rot and have since informed the Ministry of Agriculture.
When asked if the Association is pursuing the matter he answered in the negative saying, their busy schedules does not allow them to follow the issue keenly and will entreat authorities to act on the intelligence and deal with it appropriately.
