Fear of insecurity hangs over Boadi in Kumasi

Kumasi, May 24, GNA - The Ashanti Regional Police Command has assure d the people Boadi, a suburb of Kumasi, of adequate security protection, amidst threats of attack by suspected robbers. Police Chief Superintendent S. N. Adane-Ameyaw, Commander of the Regional Buffalo Unit, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the security

were in control of the situation. The town, he said, had been put under a 24-hour protection and asked

the residents to go about their normal business without fear. The people in the community woke up last Friday to find notices carrying threats of imminent strike, pasted on the walls of a number of buildings by unknown persons, believed to be robbers. Chief Superintendent Adane-Ameyaw said he had personally met with t he community leaders to calm their anxiety, adding that, the police had also

launched an investigation to track down those behind. Madam Helina Offei Quartey, the assembly member, said they are terrified and could not simply dismiss the notices as a cruel hoax.
