Fear Grips NPP

As Party Gurus Beg Prez Mills To Be Solicitous

Intelligence Desk Report

“The Little Child Who Cries All Night, Thinking He/She Is Punishing The Mother, Will Also Suffer In Return”

The above-quoted wise saying was what confuses the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to chase its own shadow, following the party’s inability to properly counsel, chide and moderate the activities of its loud-mouthed Assin North Member of Parliament (MP), Hon Kennedy Agyepong, who for some time now has been making ugly grumbling on the airwaves, over vexatious allegations, which were beyond his own level of understanding.

With display of sheer ignorance, Mr. Kennedy Agyepong, who was incapable to sufficiently dissect a certain document he claims to have come across from the Auditor-General’s Department in regard to the GH¢42million paid Mr. Alfred Agbesi Woyome as judgment debt on advice of the Former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Mrs. Betty Mould Iddrisu, has eventually sent his party, particularly, some top members and financiers wobbling.

Claiming that Mr. Woyome has no contract with the Government of Ghana, and so, therefore, was paid money that he has not worked for, and unaware of his own facts; intelligence information picked up by The Informer, wafering within the NPP party and the seat of the government, Castle, Osu, indicates that some leading members of the NPP who are afraid of skeletons in their wardrobe being laid bare as a result of the President’s directive to the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) on Tuesday to find out the total amount of monies paid out as judgment debts since the present administration took over the reins of government on 7th of January, 2009, and who their beneficiaries are, can hardly close their eyes as they go to bed.

Confirming the information, this paper’s secret sources, both within the NPP and Castle, sighted and cited those calling to prevail upon His Excellency Professor John Evans Atta Mills to stop the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) from investigating the matter of the ‘judgment debts’, and reveal that those likely to be indicted are vowing to deal with Kennedy Agyepong for the mess being caused them. According to our Castle source, contacts’ cellular phone has still not stop ringing with calls from top NPP party members who confess to have received compensation in terms of judgment debts, fraudulently, from day one of the President’s strong-worded directives to the EOCO as they continue to plead that an intervention be made, so the President can reverse his decision. “We are afraid and so worried that all our preparations towards the X’Mas and New Year’s Day celebrations have been put on hold since our faith is hanging”, they confessed, this paper’s impeccable source at the Castle revealed. “I swear these NPP big-men are hot and from the way they speak, they will give Kennedy Agyepong a run for his money, for putting them under this intense condition and only God knows how he will survive the action to be visited on him by his own people”, the source added.

According to the NPP insider too, top gurus in their party who have confirmed him, having benefited from the said payment, are very disturbed as they vent all their anger on Kennedy Agyepong for putting them in-between the rock and the hard place.

Asked why should his colleagues run to him to intercede on their behalf when he is not a member of government, he replies that, because the President is his personal friend and also ‘a mate at school’, and have been in constant touch with him, they believe he can save them from the predicament in which they find themselves.

“Look; they know what I am capable of doing; but knowing who the President is with his principles uncompromising, I advised them to wait and see the outcome of the EOCO’s investigations, because the President will not rescind his decision having demonstrated enough political will, not to shield any of his appointees who are found to have engaged in corruption”, he added; commending the President for his action saying, he has indeed exhibited that he is committed to building a Better Ghana unlike what transpired in their time under ex-President Kufuor.

However, a close confidante to the Assin North MP has told this paper that, her man has regret his actions, sensing the danger and the inconveniencies they are likely to cause some of his party members.

In fact, those of us working on The Informer support the President in totality for his directive to the EOCO, so that the issue will be dealt with once and for all.

It would be recalled that His Excellency Professor John Evans Atta Mills, following his revulsion to corruption, on Tuesday 20th December, 2011 directed the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) to investigate the circumstances leading to the payment of Forty Two Million Ghana Cedis (GH¢42 million) to Vamed/Waterville Engineering and Mr. Alfred Woyome as judgment debt among others, which have led to causing financial lass to the nation’s economy. Please stay tuned as we come your way with the hard core evidence in this matter, as well as why most people are of the candid view that ex-President Kufuor and his Chief of Staff Kwadwo ‘Kyere Mpiani should be made to answer for the mess.
