Residents of Sefwi Tanoso Praso in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region have been left in a state of shock after 45-year-old Kwabena Asiedu allegedly stabbed his 18-year-old daughter, Susana Asiedu.

According to a report by adomonline.com on Thursday, May 15, 2025, the suspect who is a local farmer, allegedly stabbed his daughter over her pregnancy.

According to the report, the victim, who is training as a hair stylist in the community, was angrily confronted by her father after he learned that she was five months pregnant while still undergoing her apprenticeship.

When Susana confirmed that she was pregnant, it triggered a heated argument that quickly escalated. During the confrontation, the suspect is said to have pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times as she attempted to escape to her friend's room for safety.

Due to the severity of the attack, the victim was rendered unconscious and was rushed to the Bibiani Government Hospital by a local unit committee member.

The suspect, Kwabena Asiedu, fled the scene following the incident but was later apprehended by the Bibiani District Police of the Ghana Police Service and is currently in police custody.
