Abu Arafat, a vulcaniser from Jasikan in the Oti Region who is on remand at the Ho Central Prisons collapsed in court on Wednesday for not eating at that time of the day.
Arafat, was observing the Ramadan fast being on remand over his involvement in a narcotics case with five others.
During the court session presided over by Mrs Priscilla Dikro Ofori, Abu fell off his bench and was whisked out.
About 30 minutes later when his case was called, the prosecution pleaded with the court to provide the accused with a chair as he was too weak to stand in the dock.
Abu was offered the seat but few minutes into the hearing of the case, he started shouting “my heart… my heart”, and was taken back.
A can of Malta Guinness drink was provided, which he hastily gulped down.
Moments later, Abu regained strength and was seen conversing with others in the room.
