Many farmers and young people who are interested in getting into agribusiness in Avenor land cannot wait for the much-anticipated agribusiness forum slated for Thursday 15th of November 2018 at the Akatsi College of Education as it promises to be a day of enlightenment and massive exposure.
There has been much talk in recent times about the need for farmers to stay updated about the emerging trends in the business of agriculture as far as innovative and efficient farming practices, processes and applications are concerned.
Farmers can no longer depend on the old methods of farming as the emerging changes in climatic conditions, agriculture technology and businesses practices remain highly dynamic and volatile.
The Avenor Traditional Council has therefore instituted an annual agribusiness forum which is part of its Avenor Tutudoza activities to build capacity and expose farmers in the traditional area to these emerging trends, agribusiness opportunities and technologies.
The traditional council believes that the strategic geographical location of Avenor, land area, vegetation, road network, proximity to market, low levels of crime rate and population amongst other key socio-cultural and ecological factors of the area gives it a high level of cutting-edge advantages in boosting trade and ensuring low investment risks but high levels of return on investment for existing and potential Agribusiness investors.
The maiden edition of the forum will create a platform for all farmers and potential farmers in Avenor land to learn about Best farming practices for increasing yield, Best post-harvest practices and produce storage, Innovative Produce Marketing Strategies, Readiness to attract financing/investment.
All existing and potential farmers, agriculture science students, and the general public are invited to partake in this thought-provoking and educative forum on the 15th of November, 2018 at the Akatsi College of Education, Letsa Korba Hall.
