The Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, John Dumelo, has shared five key points for beginner poultry farmers as the country observes Farmers Day.
In a video message posted on his social platforms, Dumelo highlighted practical guidelines aimed at helping beginners avoid common pitfalls and build sustainable poultry ventures.
According to him, the first step is not to rush into expansion. He advised beginner farmers to take time to learn the business thoroughly in order to grow it successfully.
He also encouraged young farmers to remain steadfast, noting that the journey can be challenging when it comes to making profits and breaking even.
Finally, he emphasised the high demand for eggs and urged farmers to feed their birds with quality feed to produce healthier and better-quality eggs.
