Farmer threatens to kill his sister's boyfriend

Suhum (E/R), May 12, GNA - Kwabena Okine, a 25-year-old farmer who threatened to kill his sister's boy friend, was on Tuesday arraigned before the Suhum Magistrate Court presided over by Miss Edem Kokuvie-Tay charged with threatening.

Okine pleaded not guilty was granted bail in the sum of GHC 1,000 to re-appear on June 1.

Police Chief Inspector Andrews Banafo told the court that the complainant last year befriended the accused person's sister and that both of them lived in the same town at Nkronso near Apedwa. He said Okine, who did not like the relationship, warned him several times not to go near his sister. The prosecutor said on April 10, Okine spotted the complainant walking with his sister and he got angry and insulted the complainant and three others who were sitting under a tree.

Police Inspector Banafo said that nearly resulted into fight but they were separated and the complainant left for his house. He said Okine later went there with a double barrel gun and threatened to kill him. The prosecutor said people rushed to the scene and one Mr. Moses Kwadjo Blackman took away the gun from Okine and made a report to the police who arrested him.
