Farmer remanded for inflicting cutlass wounds on student

Juaso (Ash), Feb. 06, GNA - A Farmer has been remanded into custody for inflicting cutlass wounds on a student he suspected of having an affair with his wife.

Moses Divaro pleaded not guilty to a charge of causing harm and would reappear on February 14, 2005.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector B.L. Amoah, told the Court presided over by Mr Jacob Boon, that at 2100 hours on December 20, 2004 the accused returned from his farm and found his wife drunk lying in the bedroom.

He said Divaro was informed that it was the complainant who took his wife to a drinking spot and made her drank.

Chief Inspector Amoah said the accused went to the house of the complainant and hit him with a hammer on his head and followed it up with a cutlass attack the next day.

He said the accused who sensed danger went into hiding, while the complainant was rushed to the Juaso District Hospital, where he was later referred to the Komfo Anokye Hospital. Divaro was arrested from his hide out.
