Akyem Oda, Aug.02, GNA - An Akyem Oda Magistrate's Court on Wednesday sentenced Yaw Owusu, a 30-year-old farmer to six months imprisonment in hard labour on his own plea for stealing a fowl.
Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Ben Osei Kwadwo told the court presided over by Mr Edward Kwame Bosompem Apenkwah that the complainant is a poultry farmer at Essam while the accused also a farmer stays at Larbikrom all in the Birim South District. He said for sometime now the complainant detected that some people were stealing broilers and eggs from his farm and upon enquiries was informed on July 27, that some suspects had been arrested with fowls at Larbikrom.
The prosecution said when the complainant went to Larbikrom identified the fowls as belonging to him and with the assistance of some people Owusu was arrested and sent to the police station. He said after investigations accused was charged with the offence.
