A 41-year old farmer has run into trouble with the law over alleged threat to kill his former wife.

Prince Osei Abu was on Monday put before the Kumawu Circuit Court to answer for his crime.

He pleaded not guilty and he was granted a GH¢5,000.00 bail to reappear on Thursday, August 25.

Police Chief Inspector Paul Kluze told the court presided over by Mr. Yussif Osei Assibey that the incident happened on June 15, in Kumawu-Abotanso.

The marriage between the accused and Madam Ama Pokuaa, the complainant, is broken.

About three months ago, Abu took the ex-wife to Effiduase Magistrate Court, seeking an order to take custody of their two children.

The case went against him as it was established in the court that he had neglected his parental responsibility to the children and he was asked to compensate the woman with cash of GH¢500.00, which he readily agreed.

The prosecution said Abu having defaulted in the payment of the said money went out of his way to openly threaten Pokuaa with death, to deny her the compensation.

A formal report was made to the police and he was arrested.
