CHRISTIAN COUNCIL CONDEMNS AKUFFO ADDO
...Over his Tribal and ALL DIE Be DIE Talk’’
Source :Daily Democrat
By William Sarpong
The General Secretary of the Christian Council, Rev. Fred Deegbe has expressed his displeasure about Nana Addo’s continue use of his ‘All die be die’ unfortunate statement.
According to him ,the statement is very serious and a threat to the country advising Ghanaians not to joke with it. “You don’t use the language of threatening people with dying when you want them to live,’’ he stated.
He disclosed that Christian Council is not happy about the volatile statement and will condemn any statement that will bring division and war in the country.
The General Secretary sited Libya as an example where people were protesting because they feel of being oppressed. Then, the leader came out and called them rats, cockroaches and drug addicts .
He said it is the same kind of languages that brought the Rwanda crisis. “And for God sake, we are all human.
He warned politicians to guard against been carried away by their emotion when on political platforms
But let’s say for a moment you were carried over and forget yourself and because supporters were excited you said things you were not to ,it will be honourable to retract and apologise .This will be a sign of a responsible leader to say what I said, I didn’t mean it. If this is the way the people interpret what I said, I am sorry, I didn’t mean that.
This condemnation came to light when The Movement for a Better Ghana from Kumasi presented a petition to the Christian Council of Ghana, to call Nana Akuffo Addo to come and apologise to the good people of Ghana for his unguided statement of “All die be die’’.
According to Rev. Fred Deegbe, if one does not have the attitude of saying I am sorry he is not a good leader. “We all make mistakes, when we make mistakes, we should be able to say I made a mistake’’.
He stated that politics is about ideas but nobody have monopoly of wisdom.
When asked if it would be appropriate for Nana Akuffo Addo to come out and apologise to the general public about his unguided statement of “All die be die’’, the Rev. Minister said if what he said is not what he meant, then he should come out and say he is sorry. But added that if Nana Akuffo Addo means what he said, then he can decide not to come and apologise.
The petition presented by the Movement to the Christian Council of Ghana was not happy about Nana Akuffo Addo’s “All die be die’’ statements because it could lead to the collapse of the country.
The Movement noted that some of the utterances coming from our leaders do not auger well for the progress of the nation, especially the recent misguided statement made by the NPP Presidential Candidate, Nana Akuffo Addo, inciting Akans to fight for 2012 general election for him to rule “All die be die’’ affairs, and that they should die for him.
Presenting the petition to Rev. Fred Deegbe, the Secretary of Movement for a Better Ghana, Mr. Kwesi Ofori-Agyeman Boadi said they have realized that Nana Akuffo Addo’s statement is bringing tribal division and war into the country and belived it is wise to petition the Christian Council and traditional rulers so that they would called him to order and apologise to the whole country for making unfortunate statement.
The Movement according to the Secretary have already petitioned the National House of Chiefs in Kumasi to also called Nana Akuffo Addo and talk to him to apologise to the good people of Ghana.
“Sometime people do not think that this thing has effects, but during the last electioneering campaign, there were a lot of messages about peace, peace. Thankful to God we saw a clip where some youth were arrested and other youth charged as if they were going to beat the police and take the young people. But later they say no, let them take them away. These are young people who abuse the electoral processes and all of a sudden, we heard the young people singing and shouting, “We want peace, we want peace, we want peace’’.
The General Secretary of the Christian Council explained that the agitation of the youth was that they need peace because we are all one people.
He pointed out that what we forget as Ghanaians, is that we leave in an Island which is surrounded by Francophone speaking countries and our neighbour being the sea, added that if we make the country ungovernable, we would be singing songs when the Israelis song when they were singing “By the rivers of Babylon when we sat down and wept’’.
Rev. Deegbe encouraged the movement to take the message across and pledges the Christian Council’s commitment to work together to ensure peace in the country.

Akuffo Addo,NPP out of coverage area
Ghana’s independence celebration means nothing to them
Source :Daily Democrat
Information available to The Daily Democrat indicates that, apart from special invitations sent to Former Presidents to attend the 54th Independence Anniversary, other invitations were also extended to all political parties in the country.
The source revealed that the New Patriotic Party (NPP), received an official invitation on February 28, but decided not to attend because they have no respect for the Independent Anniversary which they have fought against some 54 years ago.
Other political parties obliged to the invitation and were present at the Independence Square to commemorate the 54th Anniversary of the country, but the NPP, were nowhere to be found.
They ostensibly failed to attend the all important national programme, because of reasons best known to them alone.
The paper can authoritatively report that not even the Leader of the elephant family, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo nor the leadership, including Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, chairman, Sir John, the Cocoase Kruasene’s, and likewise its Parliamentarians who always oppose to anything good for the country in order to make the government unpopular.
Rather, they have exposed their hatred for the occasion which, according to some political pundits the paper contacted, is unfortunate. Our source within the party told the paper that the parliamentarians do not see the need to honour the invitation in order to take part in the remarkable celebration.
According to the source, the NPP leadership summoned its parliamentarians and warned them not attend the programme because when they do attend it Ghanaians mighty think that the party has succumb to the ruling NDC government with its blend of the Nkrumah’s ideology.
An offshoot of UP tradition does not appreciate the country’s Independence neither did they appreciate the contribution of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah to the nation.
Desperate to clench power, the NPP is leaving no stone unturned including inciting supporters to hide behind the teachers to demonstrate against the government, all because of the Single Spine anomalies.
Meanwhile, the Fair Wages Commission earlier came out to apologise to teachers and assured them that it was a mistake and that all will be well soon, but because they were being pushed by some selfish politicians who do not have anything better for the country except to come and amass wealth, the explanation was ignored.
These teachers who have allowed them to be used by the NPP, even came out openly and threatened not to take part in the 25th Independence Anniversary, and truly, they did.
Investigation conducted by The Daily Democrat revealed that, most of those who staged demonstrations in some part of the country, holding placards with “All Die Be Die’’ inscriptions were hardcore NPP supporters.
However, because the NPP were the main orchestrated of the teacher’s demonstrations and have told them not to take part in the 54th Independence Cerebrations, they themselves failed to attend the event to win teachers sympathy come 2012 elections.
Recently, Nana Akuffo Addo and the NPP have come under serious critism for his tribal sentiment inciting Akans against other tribes. Nana Akuffo Addo has called on the Akans to unit and rally behind him for his desperate bid for power .He encourage them to die for him to become president because “All Die Be Die’’ .
Instead for Nana Addo and the NPP to show remorse for his unfortunate statement, he is rather deepening the wounds by hiding behind the teachers to stage a demonstration against the government.
