Former chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer has expressed his delight at FIFA’s decisions to constitute a Normalisation Committee to run the game in Ghana.

He is, however, sad that the world governing body did not give the Executive Committee a listening ear.

FIFA, on Thursday, agreed to institute a Normalization Committee to restore football in Ghana gradually.

Mr Palmer has applauded the body for the decision but isn’t happy that FIFA has failed in granting the Executive Committee audience in order to hear its side of the story.

“We are all happy at FIFA’s decision to restore football soon but I only wish FIFA had listened to the Executive Committee too. The decision was one-sided, unfortunately”, he explained.

The owner of Division One side, Tema Youth, also said football people can now afford a sigh of relief since the decision means their huge investment in the game is now secured.

“Our investment is safe now and football people will still be in business even though there are loopholes in the decisions arrived at. When the normalization committee comes into being, we all will be eligible to stand for elections if we so wish because we are not criminals like the government is painting us”.

He added that football is the winner in the wake of all the brouhaha and expects the government not to prevent anyone from contributing when it is time to put ideas together for reforms.
