FBI investigates Reggie Rockstone

Reggie Rockstone was supposed to have performed for the first time for Ghanaians living in New York on March 10th. Everything was perfect until he got to the airport and presented his British passport.

New American foreign policy now requires British citizens to get a visa when traveling to the states. Reggie didn’t know this yet and the immigration officers went ahead and took his prints. Regular procedure allows for index finger prints for the records but Rockstone had all his finger prints taken and got detained for a while. When the officers came back, Reggie was told he was under investigation by the FBI because of his association with a former Black Panther operative.

The Black Panther Party was an African American organization founded to promote civil rights and self-defense. It was active within the United States in the late 1960s into the 1970s.The organization initially espoused a doctrine calling for armed resistance to societal oppression in the interest of African American justice. While the organization's leaders passionately espoused socialist doctrine, the party's black nationalist reputation attracted an ideologically diverse membership base.

Reggie says he was too shocked to react because he thought it was so ridiculous. After being questioned for a while, he was granted a ten-year visa. But it came a little too late and he could travel to perform in the US. Now the organisers of the concert in New York are on his case and they are demanding their money back.
