The maiden edition of Experience Volta 2025 has been successfully held in Accra, marking a major milestone in the promotion of the culture, creativity and identity of the Volta Region on the national stage.
The high-profile cultural showcase was attended by Dr Gabriel Tanko Kwamigah-Atokple, who serves as Patron of Experience Volta 2025, and who described the event as a powerful demonstration of the unifying strength of culture in national development.
Speaking after the event, Kwamigah-Atokple said his participation in the historic first edition reaffirmed his belief that culture remains a vital tool for fostering unity, preserving heritage and projecting the Volta Region story with pride and purpose.
The event attracted a distinguished gathering of political leaders, traditional authorities, diplomats and private sector players.
Dr Kwamigah-Atokple, who is also the Council of State Member for the Volta Region, attended the event in the company of the Volta Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mawutor Agbavitor; alongside several Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) from the region.
Also present were representatives of the diplomatic and traditional communities, including a delegate of King Tackie Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse; Mohammed H Baalbaky, representing the Lebanese Ambassador to Ghana; Rabea Bourji, General Manager of Multi-Pac Ltd; as well as numerous chiefs and traditional leaders from the Volta Region, whose presence underscored the cultural significance of the occasion.
As Patron of the initiative, Dr Kwamigah-Atokple reaffirmed his commitment to supporting programmes that promote cultural preservation, empower the youth and strengthen national cohesion.
He expressed optimism that Experience Volta would evolve into an enduring cultural platform that continues to celebrate and promote the rich heritage of the Volta Region.
The successful debut of Experience Volta 2025 is expected to boost cultural tourism, deepen appreciation of volta traditions and create new opportunities for creative expression and youth participation, while reinforcing the region’s place within Ghana’s diverse cultural landscape.
