Exceptional Welcome For Akufo Addo In Canada

“”

From: Stephen A. Quaye, Toronto-Canada.

Expectation was set very high for the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party [NPP] Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo to present his campaign message for the 2016 general elections to Ghanaians resident here in Canada.
So when he arrived in Toronto on October 25, 2015, over one thousand two hundred members of the party, ordinary Ghanaians and non-Ghanaians alike thronged the Primavera Hotel in Woodbridge, Ontario to be part of a dinner event to honour him.
The following day, October 26, 2015,he addressed the biggest town hall meeting ever at the Ghanaian Presbyterian Church in Toronto, where participants in joyous mood shouted “nana ooo, nana”.
As it has always been his style, upon arrival at the venue, he took time off to go round every single chair to shake hands with participant’s whiles others took a pose with him for their archives.
After exchanging pleasantries with the chiefs he proceeded to the podium for the programme to begin.
Having finished delivering his powerful speech to the participants, many of them rushed to the microphones to ask him questions ranging from falling standard of education, energy crisis dubbed “dum sor,dum sor”,health, bad roads in Ghana causing more fatal accidents, the spiraling of the legal plastic “CEDI”, unemployment and the bloated register.
As if already elected as a president, participants asked him what he will do to solve the energy crisis which is killing the Ghanaian economy and creating joblessness, what will he do to solve the high rate of armed robbery in the country, solve the poor standard in education and more.
Convinced with the answers given by Nana Akufo Addo, participants sent message across which was simple and clear.

Their simple message was a call for real change of government in Ghana and indicated their preparedness to impress on their relatives back home to effect that real change when they hit the pools in the next general elections.

Again they declared a massive support for Nana Akufo Addo as they urged him to work hard to wrest power from incumbent president John Dramani Mahama.

Their declaration of trust in the opposition leader Nana Akufo Addo and their support for his campaign drive to power in 2016 came when Akufo Addo asked them to trust him to transform the economy of Ghana by electing him as the next president.

“I call on all Ghanaians to trust me by voting for me to become the next chief executive of Ghana which I will serve with a clean heart and see to it that the country achieves tremendous transformation for all to enjoy development in freedom”.
Then participants responded positively with a standing ovation which in one voice replied,” You have our trust and support to transform Ghana”.
End.
