A lighthearted moment between former President John Agyekum Kufuor and broadcast journalist Philip Kwabena Agyemang, popularly known as Roman Fada, has surfaced on social media.
In a brief exchange, Roman Fada, who was the running mate for the late flagbearer of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Madam Akua Donkor, approached former President Kufuor and introduced himself as the next president of Ghana.
“Papa, in 2029, I am the one who will become the president,” he told the former president while exchanging a handshake.
In his usual calm and deep voice, but Kufuor advised Roman Fada to join his party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“2029? Then you will have to join a better party. Join a better party; merge your party with mine,” former President Kufuor responded amidst laughter.
Madam Akua Donkor died on October 28, 2024, ahead of the 2024 general election.
Despite efforts by the GFP to comply with the Electoral Commission’s directive to find a replacement for their flagbearer, a nomination submitted by the party to replace Akua Donkor with Roman Fada was rejected.
