Ex-MASLOC CEO's lawyers threaten media

A former CEO of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Sedinam Tamakloe Attionu, is currently out of the country and cannot honour, in person, an invitation extended to her by the Economic and Organised Crimes Office (EOCO) today, Monday 8 May.

It is not clear why EOCO is inviting Mrs Attionu but EOCO, according to some insider reports, is probing some irregularities in connection with the disbursement of loans to some beneficiaries by MASLOC.

Meanwhile, Mrs Attionu’s lawyers have issued a statement warning to take on any media house that impugns the integrity of their client in light of the EOCO invitation.

The statement, signed by Mr Victor Adawudu said: “Mrs. Attionu is out of the country on an important family assignment. She has committed to full cooperation, without prejudice, immediately on her return. In her absence and until her return, her attorneys Lexkudoz Law Firm, will begin the process of engagement with EOCO.”

“We hereby caution all media houses and the general public that any attempt to denigrate Mrs. Attionu or soil her hard-earned reputation with insinuations, fabrications and or twisted commentary will be met frontally and forcefully with all the legal arsenal at our disposal.”
