Ex-Deputy Minister Of Interior Dead

A one-time Deputy Minister of the Interior under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, Mr Kwaku Acheampong-Bonful is dead.

The Tarkwa Police Divisional Commander, Mr William Bass Baiden, told journalists that Mr Bonful was killed in a motor accident on Tarkwa-Bogoso road at about 2200hours on Thursday. Mr Baiden said Tarkwa Police Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) report he received said Mr Bonful drove into a stationary articulated truck and died on the spot.

Mr Bonful, who was a lawyer, was a former Member of Parliament for Prestea /Huni Valley constituency from 1992 to 2000. The body has been deposited at Dixcove hospital, in the Western region.
