Evangelism is a duty for all Christians – Reverend Odoi

Reverend Professor Emmanuel Odoi of the Anglican Church has said evangelization is not the preserve for the priesthood and each member of the congregation has a role to play.

He said this also means that the success of any priesthood depends greatly on the efforts of all parishioners.

Reverend Professor Odoi said this at the ordination of two priests and six deacons of the Anglican Church at the St Peter’s Anglican Cathedral at Koforidua.

The ordination ceremony was celebrated by Right Reverend Felix Odei Annancy, Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese of the Anglican Church.

Rev Professor Odoi called on parishioners to support all new priests who would be posted to their area for them to succeed.

He also called for a change in the handling of the accounts of the parishes in the diocese as many of the parishes do not have bank accounts and so the finances of the parishes are kept with individuals.

The priests ordained are Reverend Father Kingsford Nana Banyin Kojo Edusa Eyison, 39, and Reverend Father Douglas Owusu Berchie, 47 years.

The deacons are Brother Emmanuel Antoh, 32; Brother Moses Tei, 52; Brother Richard Evans Amuzu, 44; Brother K. A. Asare , 43; Brother Samuel Amo Larbi, 45; and Charles Asare, 35.
