Esseku's utterances confirm corruption at the Presidency

Accra, Dec 1, GNA - The National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Wednesday called for an enquiry into allegations of payment of monies meant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to the Presidency at the Castle.

A statement signed by Dr Yao Obed Asamoah, National Chairman of NDC, said the Party had reasonable and probable cause to believe what Mr Haruna Esseku, Chairman of the NPP, said since he was an insider. The statement said if indeed monies were paid in that manner then it was morally reprehensible and a mockery of the 'zero tolerance of corruption declaration' by President John Agyekum Kufuor.

"The Enquirer", an Accra newspaper, is serialising alleged recorded utterances of Mr Esseku containing disclosures of graft and corruption involving President Kufuor.
