Equatorial Guineans complete Basic Education in Ghana

Two Equatorial Guinean students have successfully completed their basic education in Ghana through the collaborative programme of the first lady of that country Mrs. Contancia Mangue Nsue de Obiang and Voices of African Mothers (VaM) in Ghana.

The students namely angel Nguema Asimi and Teodoro Nguema Obiang were among the graduands during the 18th congregation ceremony of John William Montessori School (JwMS) held at Tanoso in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

President of VaM, Nana Fosu Randall, said: “it is very important we all contribute in any form to the progress of our society. Thanks to the First lady of Equatorial Guinea

Mrs. Constancia Mangue Nsue de Obiang who has been the pillar behind this project, indeed it has been very successful and a life-changing one.

Voices of African Mothers are very grateful, adding “this is an attempt by the two partners to eradicate poverty from the soil of Africa.”

The two students went through the Ghanaian educational system through an exchange programme in an English-speaking country and they are expected to have good command over the English and Twi languages which are widely spoken and taught in Ghana.

The Executive Director of VaM, Kachina Akua Afriyie Randall, impressed on the graduands not to make the investments made in them go down the drain.

She asserted: “Be kind to yourself and poor people, including people you can help. Do everything with love; the world does not treat us good, hence we must do all we can to help others. No matter how hard it is, don’t give up”. She inspired the children.

A delegation of the first lady of Equatorial Guinea, led by Ms Theresa Avoro, was also present to grace the event.

Since its establishment in 2004, VaM’s projects have been designed in line with United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals (MDG’s) purposely to improve the lives of Africa.
