Entrepreneurs Need To Sharpen Skills To Be Competitive - Abeasi

Accra (GAR), June 24, - The competitive nature of business and the globalisation of world economies demand the sharpening of the entrepreneurial skills of the private sector to meet these new challenges. This calls for harnessing all resources available, especially bridging the gap between the public and the private sectors for sustained development, Mr Kwesi Abeasi, Director-General of the Private Enterprise Foundation, said in Accra today. Mr Abeasi, who was the guest speaker at the opening of a three-day entrepreneurship development workshop for former Members of Parliament, said the Ghanaian economy "is really sick". "We need proper diagnosis involving all the stakeholders in the economy to get it back on track," Mr Abeasi said, citing Malaysia and Uganda as countries which adopted a common approach to solving their economic imbalances and are ahead of Ghana in growth rates. Ghana, he said, has no choice but to bring together both the opposition and the government as well as the public and the private sectors behind national development.
