The issue of who is behind the newly yet to be outdoored political party, Miracle People's Party (MPP) has been the subject for discussion for some Ghanaians, including some prominent political pundits.
Grapevine reports indicate some bigwigs of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in an attempt to sabotage Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s presidential ambition, if he considers contesting as NPP’s flagbearer in 2016, formed the party (MPP).
But speaking on OKAY FM’s “Ade Akyea Abia” show, the NPP’s Director of Finance and Administration, Hon. Opare Hammond, accused its party’s political rivals of masterminding the circulation of posters of the new party seen at some vantage points across the city of Accra.
Opare Hammond was emphatic that no functional NPP activist will do such a thing to destroy that party’s unity, knowing very well how determined the NPP is to win back power in 2016.
“The MPP party is not from the NPP. We (NPP) have political detractors who are trying to sow all kinds of discord to divide the NPP party and to mount tension. The truth is, no NPP member is behind this so-called Miracle People’s Party (MPP).
“All those mentioned in the NPP as founders of MPP under no circumstances would they even think of forming a new party (MPP) after their toil to see the NPP grow. I can say categorically that the MPP is not from NPP. Our opponents are behind this, though I will not mention names, but it’s clear who they are,” he said.
