Ekumfiman Rural Bank calls for arrest of former manager

Ekumfi Essuehyia (C/R), May 8, GNA - The Board of Directors and Management of Ekumfiman Rural Bank at Essuehyia in the Central Region have appealed to Saltpond police to intensify the search for Mr Joseph Bernard Kojo Addison, a former manager of the bank, who is said to be on the run.

Addison allegedly jumped bail while facing trial at the Saltpond Community Tribunal for alleged embezzlement of funds. At a meeting at Ekumfi Essuehyia on Saturday, the bank appealed to anyone who knows of the whereabouts of Mr Addison to inform the bank, police or the tribunal for a reward.

Meanwhile, the Board has assured the general public that the bank is running normal service despite the scandal. It said arrangements were far advanced to extend the bank's area of operation, and appealed to shareholders and the general public to buy more shares to strengthen its capital base.

It said arrangements were also under way to give incentive packages to reliable customers, especially workers who receive their salaries through the bank.
