The Chief of the Ejura Divisional Council, Barimah Osei Hwedie II, has highlighted more than 15 major infrastructural projects undertaken since he assumed his role as Ejurahene.
Speaking at the climax of the Ejura Sekyerene Festival on October 11, 2025, he attributed these achievements to the support of the Ejurahemaa, Nana Akua Tiwaa II, and the council of elders.
The Ejurahene outlined several notable projects, including the construction of a fence wall around the Ejura Government Hospital, a six-bedroom bungalow for the Medical Superintendent, and a seven-unit bungalow for the Ghana National Fire Service.
He also mentioned the construction of classroom blocks and office complexes, such as an ultra-modern office facility for the Ejura Divisional Police Headquarters, valued at GH¢3.2 million.
“Some of the other projects initiated by the Ejurahene include the release of 640 acres of land to the Ghana Prison Service and the establishment of a military detachment camp to curb crime in the area,” he said.
“The Traditional Council has also partnered with organisations to construct an ultra-modern market complex and a maternity unit at the Ejura Government Hospital.”
Barimah Osei Hwedie II further highlighted various humanitarian efforts, including the provision of scholarships for students and financial support for security agencies.
He emphasised the importance of development projects that enhance security, create jobs, generate income, and improve living standards.
The Ejurahene expressed gratitude to his subjects for their continued support and urged them to remain united in driving the development of Ejura.
He also acknowledged the significance of the Yam Festival, describing it as an occasion that brings people together to reflect, give thanks, and set new development agendas.
Residents have praised the Ejurahene’s leadership, commending his commitment to improving living conditions and providing essential services.
