Effutu NPP retains constituency executives

All the nine executive members of the Effutu Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) retained their positions for another four-year term in an election held in Winneba on Saturday.

Mr Halm Theophilus Effum, Chairman, polled 309 votes out of the 415 delegates to beat three other contestants.

Mr Ato Taylor, the constituency secretary, was elected un-opposed while. Mr John Bartholomew Nisson polled 198 votes to beat Mr Ebo Morrison who had 180 votes for the first Vice Chairman position.

Mr Ghartey Tagoe won the second vice Chairman post with Ms Faustina Annor maintaining the Women Organizer's seat.

Mr Desmond Enyan was elected the Youth Organizer, with Mr Kofi Kwayirah, and Mr John Bondzie Sey retaining the positions of organizer and treasurer respectively.

The elections were supervised by the Effutu Municipal Electoral Director, Mr Anthony Oppong.

Mr Ben Mensah, Central Regional Executive Member of NPP who witnessed the election, commended the delegates for their sense of direction, understanding and maturity.

He appealed to the defeated contestants to forget the past and co-operate with the executives, in order to work hard to ensure victory for the party in the 2016 elections.

Mr Alex Afenyo Markin, Member of Parliament for Effutu said, the executives have been retained in appreciation of their hard work during the 2012 general elections to unseat the National Democratic Congress sitting MP who was Cabinet Minister.

He said with the election over, members of the party should come together and work hard for the NPP to retain the Parliamentary seat.

Mr Halm on behalf of the executives, thanked the delegates for the honour done them, and pledged to work assiduously towards the progress of the party within the constituency.

He appealed to supporters of the various contestants to put the past behind them so that with a united front, victory will not elude the party come 2016.
