The Member of Parliament for Ofoase-Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has called on security operatives to desist from intimidation tactics directed at the Minority in Parliament.
He made the remark during an interview on Chanel One TV on April 9, 2025.
He clarified that when a Member of Parliament is required to appear for questioning at the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), the constitution vividly spells out the procedure that must be followed.
He emphasised that even if Parliament is on recess, authorities cannot bypass the Speaker of Parliament to effect an arrest.
The MP for Ofoase-Ayirebi, who termed the event as an attempt to silence the Minority, condemned the NIB's move to arrest Ntim Fordjour at his home.
“This thing you’re doing is setting a very dangerous precedence. We don’t need to go down this path... but I think that efforts and attempts to intimidate the Minority must cease,” Kojo Oppong Nkrumah stated while detailing issues discussed with the security operatives prior to their withdrawal.
Background:
On Wednesday, April 9, some armed men, who held themselves as officials from the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), attempted to arrest Rev John Ntim Fordjour at his home.
They, however, withdrew with the timely intervention of some parliamentarians, executives of the NPP and some supporters who had thronged the premises.

'Yes, I can confirm to you that they came to arrest him! The leader of the delegation told us that the Director General of the NIB had asked them to pick him up. When asked for a warrant, one of the officers said that he was the warrant!'
